About the adventure
Create and play your hero, your way, and tell their story in this persistent sandbox adventure. (Heroes begin with an additional feat, magic item, and higher server-specific stat spread.) Active play-by-post PBP) campaign running since July 2023. The world of Allarea still bears the scars of the Dragon and Mage Wars. Omnea prospers beneath the watch of the Mage Council, trade flows across the seas, and civilisation rebuilds beneath promises of peace and order. But peace is fragile. Ancient cults stir beneath the surface. Forgotten gods whisper from the dark. Entire regions hide dangerous truths, and across distant lands, powerful forces prepare for war in secret. Your choices matter here. This is a sandbox-style campaign where character backstories, decisions, alliances, failures, and victories shape the world around you. Explore ancient ruins, navigate political intrigue, hunt monsters, uncover conspiracies, build alliances, seek vengeance, or chase power for yourself. The campaign is run in Play by Post (PbP) format on a dedicated Discord server, allowing flexible play without scheduling headaches. Posts are asynchronous and compatible with PC, tablet, or mobile. I consistently respond to posts daily, making at least 1 major daily contribution and 1-2 smaller interactions, and I expect a good level of commitment from players. Sundays are slow, or no, contribution days. If you have questions about PbP, the setting, or D&D generally, feel free to ask. D&D 5e Play By Post. Dark Fantasy Sandbox Adventure.

About me
I write D&D modules, I run games, I write code and, most importantly, I love D&D. Actually most TTRPG, RPG and board games to be honest. I am a player, a GM, and a moderator on multiple discord servers, primarily I offer text based D&D 5e games, though I have online voice and video games too. Check it out… Are you seeking a 5E game to develop your character, to be a hero, without the challenges of scheduling? A play by post that won't fade away and WILL allow you to reach your characters full potential? I facilitate play by post campaigns, catering to one to six players. I will completely customise the game to suit you and your characters, using either homebrew or published materials, depending on your preference, and at any desired levels. We will discuss the essence of D&D adventures with you, and I will craft a world tailored to your specifications. Do you enjoy immersive role-playing? We will engage in scenarios that will delve into your characters life through role-playing. Prefer engaging in combat where you can wield your preferred weapon with fervour or drop Fireballs at every opportunity? Then get your long rest in and brace your selves for some brutality. Or perhaps strike a balance between role-playing and combat, all is possible. I organise play by post games using Discord and Avrae for combat. I consistently respond to posts within 24 hours, making at least 1 major daily contributions and 1-2 smaller interactions, and I expect a good level of commitment from players. Sundays are slow, or no, contribution days. Any deviations from this schedule will be communicated in advance, and these expectations can be adjusted based on customer preferences

Creating your character
Characters will be discussed on the server once you have joined, essentially the time before you jump in to the adventure. I allow an additional feat, magic item and have a superior stat spread. I am open to most content and happy to discuss how best to make the hero you'll enjoy playing the most. Starting level is as listed in title, updating as the party level up, we allow subclass and multiclass, if required. I have a modified dice roll system that allows for a better spread of stats. We can create them together or all be yourself, and backstory detail is up to the player.
THE STORY SO FAR The heroes have hunted fish-men through flooded ruins, burned a corrupted orphanage to the ground, and crossed blades with deadly Red Wizards of the Astryx Covenant. They survived the necromancer Zanimyra, her dragonborn lieutenants, and an undead dragon marked with the symbol of Nysrith. Deep within a corrupted divine tower, they uncovered seven cursed artefacts tied to the Deceiver of Souls herself. Pursued across the wilds by rogue wizards and powerful magic, the party fought their way back to Neesdan carrying the means to cleanse them. Against advice, and against the plans of powerful factions, they chose purification over power. Now the artefacts are cleansed, but the truth has emerged. Nysrith is not alone. Across the world, cults move in secret. Ancient dragons are being raised through necromancy. Five undead wyrms may soon darken the skies of Allarea, and the party have become central figures in a growing war between divine corruption, dangerous magic, and those desperate enough to use either to preserve balance. Their next destinations are in snow capped mountains, bustle ports and whatever lies across the sea, in the distant and desolate lands beyond. Join us, and help decide what happens next. CURRENT PARTY Fallen Aasimar Divine Soul Sorcerer Dwarf Fighter / Artificer Tiefling Light Cleric Kalashtar Bard Goliath Echo Knight Fighter Halfling Warlock NOTE Please note this is Play By Post (PbP) D&D. An asynchronous Play By Post campaign played by text over Discord. Play is ongoing; session times are listed for charging purposes only.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The only preparation required will be to join the discord server and get to know each other a bit, create characters on DnD Beyond and link them into the server. There is no requirement for any particular device as Beyond is on a browser and Discord is an application, so just an internet enabled device will suffice.
What Garry brings to the table
I am an excitable GM and ready to create a story and lead the pbp adventure where you want to go. I will provide the hosted server access and link to resources on DnD Beyond, allowing access to most content. I maintain the bots, code and all the requirements to make the server function well and support the gameplay. Maps, characters, story, world, npc and even some monsters are made by myself, utilising map tools, AI Art (sorry artists) and my own creativity. You, the player, please bring your creativity, RP skills, willingness to use discord/avrae and, above all, patience and commitment to playing in the PBP style.
Homebrew rules
Heroes have additional feat, magic item and high, server specific stat spread. Flanking rules. Potions are bonus to self.

Safety
How Garry creates a safe table
To ensure the safety and comfort of all players, I employ the following measures: 1. Before the main game begins, I hold a session zero via discord to discuss concerns and establish boundaries. 2. I utilise a safety checklist to ensure that all players are aware of potential triggers and sensitive topics. 3. During the game, I run personal channels private to that player and the GM, allowing players to communicate their comfort levels or any other issues. This campaign will be conducted as Asynchronous Play by Post (pbp) , posting via text as and when you have time. We will use Discord for all communications, DND Beyond for character sheets and resources and the Avrae bot for dice rolling and combat. I use as much description in my text as possible to make the game as immersive as possible, while keeping short enough to be able to read in short bursts, which is the best way for PBP. Organised Discord channels, linked to your DnD Beyond character makes for swifter progress in the story and prevents stagnation.
