About the adventure
Here at the north pole, you and all of the other elves know how important it is for Christmas to go smoothly. That's why it is so important that you track down and recover the lost shipment of essential materials so your kin at Santa's workshop can finish making all the toys that they need. This 3-week mini-series will have investigation, combat, and mysterious lore all while staying lighthearted and festive.

About me
Hi! My name is Kenny, though online I usually go by DGThunderer or just "DG". I grew up and live on the east coast US. I first got invested in role-playing games with a live-action LARP group and have been hooked ever since. Before I even knew about tabletop RPGs I was creating my own TTRPG that I also called LARP: "LEGO action role-playing". As an adult, I have continued to tell stories. I have been involved in community theater since I graduated from college in 2013. I have found a passion for telling stories through DMing and have been running games since shortly after my graduation. I love digging deeper to explore any story no matter if that's the story of the world, the story of a player character, or the story of that random NPC the players inexplicably grow attached to.

Creating your character
Create a level 2 character using any official material, point buy (or standard array), average HP, and equipment selection (not starting gold). Every character will be flavored as one of Santa's elves, but it will not change any of your race's mechanics. If you have homebrew content you would like to use I might consider it if you share the homebrew with me at least a few days before the first game.
A three-week mini-series taking place during the first 3 Thursdays of December.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please make sure you have a working mic, access to discord, reasonably stable internet, and a character prior to the first game. A working webcam would also be great, although I do not require it. If you are new and need help with making a character or understanding rules I am happy to help as long as you reach out to me at least a few days before the first game.
What DGThunderer brings to the table
I will bring knowledge of all official rules, images to set the stage and get into the story, acting and voice work to make the NPCs feel real, and a fascinating homebrew world and adventure.

How DGThunderer creates a safe table
The Grick that Stole Christmas is a homebrew 3-session adventure starting at level 2 and ending at level 3. It is suitable for a player of any experience level. You will be little elves on the north pole near Santa's Workshop and it will be up to you to stop the evil threat from ruining Christmas. While this is not a typical medieval fantasy world, it will mechanically be the same as normal D&D. Every aspect from character race to spell effects will be reflavored to fit within the world though. Want to play a goliath? Maybe your elf is a full 4-feet tall! Need a health potion? A bottle of maple syrup can do the trick! Have fun, this is not meant to be super serious. While this is a less serious game, it is still D&D which means there will be combat and violence. We will use X, N, and O cards to make sure everyone is fully comfortable while playing. I will also plan to have one 5-minute break around the middle of the game both to check in with players and to allow for a bio break. I generally try not to kill player characters and highly doubt it will happen during this particular adventure. However, I recognize it always needs to be a potential consequence to rash actions or bad luck so I never fully take it off the table.
