Bardy is a fantastic GM. Among, if not the best I've played with. I've had an amazing time playing in his Curse of Strahd campaign as well as a Daggerheart One-Shot. I love how he works with us to incorporate our backstories into the campaign and respects our choices with fair consequences and rewards. He gives a lot of room to be creative while keeping rulings consistent and fair.

Lost Mine of Phandelver is the perfect adventure for new players. It introduces many of the popular tropes and mechanics an adventurer may come across on their adventures in a short campaign format. A one-shot can maybe get someone interested, but for those that really want to get a feel for D&D 5e, LMoP provides a great short introduction.

D&D is a fantastic system that's easy to pick up, but has a lot of depth for those who want to go further. When combined with sites like D&D Beyond, that makes character creation super simple, it's easy to pick up and learn. The rules are simple enough that after a session or 2, players pick up on what they need to do. For those who want something a bit more complex, however, there are several customization options that all combine with eachother to make unique builds and playstyles
