I've ran this system since its first debut in Gencon 2019 and it remains as my top five favorite TTRPG's. It had won the Gold ENNIE for Best Game (2020), while selling tremendously well upon its release. It is oh-so-easy to run and play, with all of the proper tools needed to create a dystopian sci-fi horrific experience your players will seldom forget. 'Cinematic' short series provide an experience packed with tension and horror while the rule system reinforces pacing akin to the early movies of which the game draws from. 'Campaign' stories let you seep in the tremendous worldbuilding Free League Publishing had done, providing tools and inspiration for and GM, no matter their experience, to easily run this game.
This game does tremendously well when depicting the shift from a 90's portrayal of vampires-in-media (and previous editions of this game line) to early and late 2000's. Smartphones, invasive internet surveillance and terrible advancements in technology give the advantage to humanity. Enjoy being the villain and your eventual downfall through personal stories of paranoia infused horror akin to media depictions of organized crime.
Isfriday has impressive scene and map visuals, silky smooth audio transitions and firm narrative practices. They are decisive at maintaining gaming etiquette, setting a space wherein comfortability and enjoyment can easily be had. Her skill at being able to keep several plates spinning while fielding multiple questions within any given scene is impressive! I highly recommend Isfriday for anyone who is looking for a top end TTRPG experience.
Dot excels at NPC dialogue and narrative description. Dialogue is flavorful and precise, with each interaction carrying with it distinct and memorable vocal tones. Narration of scenes are precise and reactive toward details incorporated by players. Based on the session time I've had thus far, I'd recommend Dot for those that are seeking a more immersive style gaming experience.
