You'll hear many people call this the best 5e adventure from WotC, and there are plenty of good reasons for that. While Curse of Strahd has a reputation for being "deadly" or "punishing" the constraints of the mists of Barovia are an amazing tool for guiding newer players towards working together to solve a common goal, even if they end up disagreeing on how to approach it. I've run Curse of Strahd twice through this website, and 5 more times prior to my time here on SPG, and the elements of replayability built into the sandbox have made every successive run feel very exciting and fresh. Additionally, the framework of the adventure leaves the GM plenty of room to characterize the villains (mainly Strahd that is, of course) in whatever way feels the most appropriate to play off of the characters in the given group. I don't think I'll ever run Strahd again; I got everything I wanted out of it from my last two runs, but it's an amazing campaign and I think all 5e GMs should try it!
Jack is a fantastic GM! He's incredibly kind and patient, and super good with introducing new players to the hobby. I've had the pleasure of seat filling in his Lost Mine of Phandelver campaign, and I've been having such an amazing time. If you're looking for a laid back, beginner friendly game, I would highly recommend joining a game with Jack!
