Reviews I've given (5)
Admittedly I almost always give good reviews on SPG because I'm an overly agreeable millennial and I don't know how not to, but in the Daily DM's case (AKA Chex, AKA Anthony) 5 stars is absolutely well deserved. I consume a lot of D&D content and play a lot of D&D, and I can say confidently that this DM knows his trade. He's super fun, super easy to work with, and has a good grasp of the rules as written that he bends gracefully for the sake of the game. He has a few house rules, but he tends to be quite upfront and transparent about them. He also has the humility to reconsider his rulings if he learns something new during the game. Guys, this is one of the best ones. Don't overthink it, just try one of his games. And no, I don't know him IRL or anything, I'm actually just saying this as a very critical connoisseur who happened to have 2 excellent games with this guy so far. Hopefully more in the future.
Me and my friends found Luke when we were looking to start a new campaign and we really lucked out! He’s great at keeping informed on the rules and making sound ruling, extremely approachable, considerate, knowledgeable, and willing to collaborate with players to make whatever fun creative experience you have in mind work. Also, his use of Foundy VVT is *on point*, and seamless. Would absolutely recommend to otherso, especially if you’re trying to get into D&D 2024.
Chris is a super fun DM. He really gives his full attention to the party, and is willing to meet everyone at their own energy level and work with whatever they bring to the table. At the time of writing this I've done 2 sessions with him, and had tons of fun. I hope to play many more in his campaign. He does a great job of respecting the rules of the system without letting them hinder or burden the fun of the game. He's extremely improvisational, which makes conversations in character really fun. Also, he generally seems more than happy to entertain whatever crazy plans the party comes up with, while still ultimately attracting everyone towards necessary story beats. He also fosters a very wholesome and welcoming environment. I joined my current campaign with him several sessions into it, and feel as welcomed as if I've been playing with him for years. In terms of temperament and skill, he is wonderfully equipped to run a smooth and joyful game of D&D (or better yet many). If you're trying to decide whether to give him a try, just go for it!
Faight's settings are super fun, and his foundry visuals and effects are top notch. He's great at letting the party think outside of the box while still reigning things in when necessary with a gentle touch. An excellent example of a DM. If you're looking for a game and you see one of his open, go for it!
Witty hosted my very first game on startplaying.games, and left me with an extremely positive experience. We had an properly challenging one-off game that covered all of the pillars of D&D and showcased the best of online play. I'd certainly recommend trying one of her games if you can find one.
