A ruined city filled with eldritch horror and political tension. This one gets under your skin—players don’t just fight monsters; they navigate factions, moral dilemmas, and creeping corruption. One of the best sandbox campaigns I’ve ever run, with an atmosphere of doom that never lets up. Arguably the best 3rd-party module for 5E. It's exceedingly difficult to create something that doesn't feel derivative when melding Lovecraftian horror with high fantasy play using a 5E rule set. But its a banger.
A simple, solid sandbox with a dragon looming over everything. Great for newcomers, but even veteran groups can enjoy the freedom. What makes it memorable? The way tension builds as the dragon’s presence grows. Proof that a well-executed small-scale campaign can be just as gripping as an epic.
War stories in D&D don’t always hit, but this one does a decent job. The Dragon Armies feel like an unstoppable force, and players get swept up in a true epic. The mass combat system is a mixed bag, but the set-piece battles are some of the best in any published adventure. Combat is challenging for players, even when running the 2024 5E rules. Perhaps a bit lore-light for die-hard Dragonlance fans.
Pirates, sea monsters, haunted ships, political intrigue, or treasure. Carve your own parth. This collection of adventures is a must for seafaring campaign lovers. Each story stands alone but creatures a broader narrative of the seaside town of Saltmarsh. A great "setting" campaign for creative GMs and players.
