I attended a seminar about earning passive income as a ttrpg creator with Jezebelle. This GM was extremely kind and personable, and they provided many anecdotes that were related to the topic. However, the content of the seminar felt a little disappointing for a $20 price tag. For example, they shared that social media and publishing original content gives you extra income. What I would have loved to know is how to make those things successful, what makes them sell well, etc. There’s lots of free resources online about what creators can do to diversify and stabilize their income, but what I was hoping a paid seminar would be able to dial in on is how to do it or strategies to set yourself up for success. To be honest, I did not feel like I got any information I couldn’t (or haven’t) gotten from a YouTube video. I don’t mean to say this reflects on them as a GM or storyteller in any way, but it did feel like the premise of the seminar - how to unlock passive income - was left unfulfilled. If you're a GM looking for professional development, I would recommend sticking with the free seminars directly sponsored by SPG.
I'm 3 months into a campaign with Shyann and I have loved every second of it! Shyann is a captivating storyteller and masterful game designer. I have felt so safe and welcomed into her space! She not only is a knowledgeable and fun GM during sessions, but also uses amazing tools to keep you engaged with the story outside of sessions as well! I'm constantly thinking of our game all week long - playing in her immersive and vibrant setting makes me so excited to see what happens next!
