While I am having a bit of fun in the Mask campaign Shrug is running, unfortunately my experience is hampered by a consistent disrespect of my character during sessions and above table. I'm playing the Legacy playbook, a young hero from a line of famous heroes. He never took the time to learn about my NPCs during session 0, but did for the characters he was more interested in, and then turned my playbook NPCs into near joke characters. My mentor was mischaracterized from the start, and my Legacy's big villain was a childish mess that was a lackey for another villain and ran away crying after our fight. On top of that no one recognizes my legacy, something that's become a running "joke". He doesn't remember key elements of my character, like how her powers work, and even when I reminded him mid-session and he still got it wrong, only taking the time to ask clarifying questions when I brought it up again after session. I've talked to Shrug a few times but it's still ongoing.
Noelle is a fantastic GM that cares so much about the games she runs, and has as much fun with it as the players do! If you want to play with someone who runs their games with passion then I highly recommend Noelle. The way she sets up her games is so immersive and almost felt like a video game. Play her "Flash F.O.C.U.S" game!!
Something that I greatly appreciated about playing with Anita is their investment into the player characters. Anita took the time to talk to each player and figure out who their character was and become personal invested in them. This very much embodies the "Be a fan of the players" apsect of masks that I feel some GM's forget to do. The session was very fun and even took time to touch upon every character's story and help build player investment into the story. Genuinely loved playing with Anita and I can't wait for more.
