About me
I'm 25 y/o with 9 years of DMing experience. Hi, my name is Gabriel, I have a degree in social sciences and a graduate degree on public administration. If you are looking for a game with intrigue, complex political dynamics, Npcs with realistic motivations and REAL consequences of your actions, then look no further. I love playing with storytellers, that give me a rich backstory and characters with motivations, my style is all about challenging a character and watching as they succeed or fail. My games are always interconnected and full of mysteries.

Waterdeep is such a great, atmospheric module. Urban fantasy has always been really interesting to me, and Waterdeep captures that vibe extremely well, especially in the way the villains are handled. Whenever I DM this adventure, I ask the players what kind of foes they want to face and what sort of atmosphere they’re looking for. Pairing that with the Waterdeep random encounters book (by the same authors) creates one of the most fun experiences by far. This module also makes it very easy to weave player backstories directly into the action, connecting factions, side quests, and personal stakes in a very natural way. That said, this adventure really benefits from an experienced DM. It can easily turn into a bloated mess if the DM isn’t ready to manage the quests and keep a good pacing with the party.
There’s not much to say about D&D that hasn’t already been said by now. It’s the system I started with, the system I’ve run most of my home games with over the past 10 years, and the system I run most of my professional games in today. There’s a certain nostalgic magic to it, a quality that really makes it feel like home, you know? You get used to it, you know its ins and outs, and that familiarity lets you feel comfortable playing it, DMing it, and running it. I think that’s 5e’s biggest strength. Even with so many great systems out there, I don’t think I’ll ever stop playing 5e, at least not entirely. It’s always great to come back to it and run something different with the system.
Josh is an amazing game master, his voice is terrific as the narrator but with a great vocal range for all sorts of different characters. His game is very immersive with just enough descriptions to get you in the scene and allowing players for cooperative world-building, letting the world feel truly ours.
