I was a player in Streets of Sharn, an ongoing weekly improv one-shot with many returning players that Dudley has been running since 2022 of the many unsung stories from the City of Towers. Dudley has a very refreshing DM style that only uses two programs; D&DBeyond (character sheets and dice rolls) and Discord (VC, music/ambience, art, maps). He doesn't use a VTT, and I don't miss that. His games use Theater of Mind for combat which gives players lenience on movement economy and creativity. He only uses maps to convey general shape if it's something unusual. * Great theater of mind and improv. The one-shot took place in Sharn as well as an extraplanar prison and he painted very immersive scenes of both. Great voices too! The adventure is created from scratch each session based off of card draws (I drew 'The Gem' which turned the plot into our characters trying to collect 50,000 gold bounty). * Fantastic understanding of the rules. I played a class I hadn't before (Monk) and forgot about a damage effect on activating a class feat, which he knew about. * Immense knowledge of Eberron's lore. The planes, the lore, the planar beings, the nations of Khorvaire and beyond, you name it, he knows it. Highly recommend this DM.
