“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Roleplay Lite” games typically include some story and character interactions but keep the emphasis on other gameplay elements like exploration or combat. While these games can still feature character-driven moments, they tend to favor quicker scenes with less focus on extensive backstories or dramatic roleplay.

Been a sideline enjoyer of TTRPG for a few years now, wanting to take the next step and start playing for real.  Been a CRPG player for a LONG time and of course all the usual fan bases for the YT TTRPG apply (Oxventure is my personal favorite) and I've been reading fantasy since the early 80's.  The area I live in, western Blue Ridge mnts, isn't really full of opportunities for me to play at an in person table so Ive decided to come here and hopefully meet some new people and give this a go.
