Shannon is an incredible DM! She is brimming with creativity and is a very patient, kind, and gregarious person. Her characters come to life and her expertise in immersing the party through vivid descriptions, environmental and character storytelling, and enthusiasm toward each and every player at her table. She is amazing in her adaptability, versatility, and patience toward all of her participants. She prioritizes making sure that everyone is comfortable and having fun and always finds a way to engage each player, regardless of how different their playstyles may be from each other. Every character's personality whether NPC or player character is enhanced with her DMing style. Her attention to detail in regards to each character's idiosyncrasies from how the NPC's speech patterns and gestures are acted out to the player characters' many idiosyncrasies are met with enthusiasm and encouragement, I feel that Shannon makes her world feel lived-in and open to the choices that her players make at each session. The campaign we play takes place in the weird, wonderful, and whimsical Prismeer, but Shannon brings in a verisimilitude to her world through her understanding of both her players' interests and excellent communication, both as a DM and as an actor of the many NPCs and locations (some of which are sentient) that cross our player characters' paths. Shannon is extremely adept at working with newer players and helping to ease them into the game. Her experience as an educator shows heavily in her reassurance and assistance to new players, and her interest in each of their characters makes everyone at her table feel welcome. Her player surveys at the start of each game help her get to know each player's tastes, interests, lines, and veils so that she can tailor her games to be unique to each table. I joined after the campaign had already started, and she brought me into the fold seamlessly. I look forward to playing at her table every week! I recommend her to everyone who is thinking about getting into DND for the first time or coming back into it after a while, and can say that she will meet you where you are, no matter your experience level.
