As a die-hard 5e player who has – for the first time – made the transition from a real table to an online one, I’ve had my fair share of worries/concerns about what the experience may look like and how my general anxieties may process it However, during my time playing in one of Manu’s games, I’ve very quickly seen many of my worries dissipate. Manu has shown time and time again that he is a DM that understands the importance of creating a space that is welcoming for new players and veteran players, both online and IRL alike. The environment he creates through his descriptive imagery and compelling storytelling is more than enough to keep any player engaged, however it is also done in a way that feels familiar for a player such as myself who is new to the virtual world In addition to his excellent game style, he ensures that the line of communication is kept open at all times. During a recent session where a certain ruling from session zero had become a bit cumbersome for the party, Manu was the first to suggest an actual discussion on the possibility of changing the rule or finding a compromise that worked for everyone. I will also add that watching Manu at work has inspired and helped to evolve my own style of DM’ing at some of the local tables I run All in all, I could not recommend this gentleman enough. I have played many IRL games and although the game we are currently in is my only virtual experience so far, it has quickly become my favourite game across both worlds and I consider it a privilege to be a part of it Thanks again Manu, you the man ✌🏽
