Kyle runs a fun table! He's good at rolling with whatever the players throw at him, matching the levity of the hijinks that players might want to get into. I noticed many of the people in his server are long time, committed players who have been in his campaigns for years, sometimes in several campaigns at once. Speaks to how great he is as a DM and a person to hang out with.
Trace runs a fun table with banter and good vibes! as a queer person, i felt really safe to just be around the folks in their space. not always true with all tables where there are icky behaviors around queerness/pronouns. their "five minutes of fame" at the start of the game was a cool way to get to know each person's character, their beginning story before the adventure started. they do a great job with checking in with ppl to give them a chance to do their thing. npc characters are fun too :D
5 stars to DM. clear communication of boundaries and expectations, values community where everyone feels welcomed, addresses player conflicts quickly & fairly, creative descriptions for combat, thoughtful VTT design for what must be satisfying & immersive gameplay when it works well. 4 days before our first session, I sent updated character sheet with adjusted ability point allocation and one change to species feat. this was frowned upon. DM stated he no longer accepts "last minute changes" to character sheets because he has to upload & configure the build on his server, which takes a lot of his time to do. the complex integration of foundry mods, configs, custom combat, animation, & automation scripts for 6 different characters did not work as DM intended. a significant amount of time spent almost every turn waiting for bugs to be diagnosed and fixed. DM notes during onboarding such troubleshooting is expected to occur for a couple sessions after each level up to address new issues caused by updating configs for new feats and spells for all 6 players. if you have time, patience, and money to spare, I highly recommend that you stick through multiple sessions to troubleshoot. he WILL fix it either in game or before next session. the system is cool. when it works, it's worth the cost.
