I recently joined one of Tom's campaigns partway through (5E, Rise of the Drow) and have been very impressed by his all-around excellence, particularly his creativity and fairness. From the initial communications about character concept and background to support my character joining mid-adventure, through the talented characterisations of NPCs and creative dynamic location scenes, to the equitable resolution of any challenges and conflicts, Tom is a GM I feel patiently supported and well guided by. This is a sentiment I believe shared by all the players in the current group I have continued playing with.
I really enjoyed the Obojima 5E intro one-shot Bells ran - was a great introduction to the setting which he clearly is passionate about and keen to support new players to the setting. Easy to communicate beforehand to create a character via the shared links even at relatively late notice on my part - he also skillfully accomodated a last-minute player when someone needed to unexpectedly drop out. The original adventure was a easy introduction with an introduction to the Obojima specific potion mechanics that then led seamlessly into the main quest which had a good mixture of story setting, displaying world elements, and a very Ghibli-themed quest which we all felt naturally drawn into. The combat scene flowed well and he handled our shenanighans with aplomb... and importantly good humour. I've been playing various RPGs for 30+ years and ran several different systems and campaigns and commend Bells for the session - so much so, that I'm cajoling my regular partly disbanded group to get together for an Obojima 5E session with him to kickstart their enthusiasm again!
