If I could play under one DM for the rest of my life, it would be an easy pick for Josh. Playing in a game that Josh is running is a peak ttrpg experience that is easy, fun, fufilling, and exciting. The story telling aspect of the game is a large priority to him, which is clear from how much work and attention he puts in to make sure all players feel included in this. He is extremely talanted at being able to work with a player in order to explore the inner world of their character during the game, instead of just moving forward on rails. The way he runs character scenes, both player and NPC, are thoughtful and engaging in ways that make all players at the table invested in all of the characters present. Even for the "silly little guys" or simple character that might seem like a joke on the surface, Josh's talent for finding the interesting character story/details to explore with the player is endless. Josh has enough deep skill and experience to run the game like this with only theatre of the mind, but he takes it a step beyond that with the graphics and music he includes as part of the overall high-production presentation. It is clear that he puts in a lot of hours in curating an experience for his players, with NPC tokens, maps, mood music playlists, and even static graphics for cutscenes. He has top notch skill at planning things out ahead of time but his talent truly shines when things go sideways and unexpected through dice or player actions (as d&d tends to do) and he is able to improvise in a way that would never seem like improvisation unless he admits it later. He truly is able to take a situation in a story (or in the middle of combat) and run with it. He is very adept at making players feel welcome and included even if their grasp on the mechanics is a bit rusty/new, or even if they are a bit overwhlemed and confused about what is going on in game, Josh clearly has an ongoing mission that everyone who plays in his games are having fun and are staying with the pack. Josh is a master at weaving all of these elements in with the story to make a truly immersive tabletop experience that makes the hours in game with him fly by in the most fun way possible. He is endlessly entertaining in both the premises that he sets up in games, as well as his committment to his own NPCS, with memorable voices and personalities that come out at full force for the players to interact with. He is careful to keep track of all of the chaos of a game, and roll with new idea/fuel/motivation that player characters give him. He is able to take all of this and tie it into a bigger picture in an entertaining and cohesive manner, whether its a one shot or ongoing campaign. It's impressive how on top of both the big and small picture Josh is when balancing the many plates of this type of game. On top of all this, Josh's genuine sense of fun for running a game players are enjoying really shines through clearly, and it is easy for his enthusiasm to be infectious for even the most reticent of players. Playing a game under Josh makes you feel like your character is part of an ongoing high-production value TV season, or an epic large-scale blockbuster movie. His attention to detail and high investment in how much fun his players are having make him DM style a true privilage to play under, and really captures the spirit of coopoerative storytelling that this game is all about
