About me

5e player for the most part. Tried Pathfinder and Daggerheart for extended trail runs and they sent me right back to DnD. Whatever. It's in my sweet spot of crunchy vs flexible. Willing to try other systems though. My favorite element of gaming is generally exploration. I love a scene, an environment, a dungeon, a puzzle, etc. more than I love combat. Combat is fun in moderation but often just takes too long to accomplish too little. Spice it up with some topography or interactive features, and you're speaking my language. Combat should be fast and cinematic, not an RNG slog to the finish line. Ideally I look for the kind of games that allow for immersion, character development, downtime, and aren't a rush from one combat to another. I look for teamwork and cooperation amongst gamers and enjoy playing support and skill characters that are very versatile. Whenever possible, I will approach situations thoughtfully and with a plan. The chaos gremlin is my nemesis. It's an immersion thing. Nobody would willingly hang out with a jerk that makes life difficult, especially if they might get killed because of it. It just doesn't make sense. The lone wolf is the next worst thing. Ugh.

Fikhar has been a fantastic GM so far. He presented a rich homebrew world that defied the typical DnD preconceptions and gave us a fresh new look at the same game. His rulings have been loose but fair and his story presentation has been top notch. Although the campaign has some general direction and expectations, he's been very responsive to player creativity and includes us in the world-building at every step. It's been a real breath of fresh air as a player.

He's been really good so far in the game and out, willing to answer questions, and keeping engagement as high as he can. Rulings seem fair and the story seems prepped, even if we're going off the rails.
