Captured the spirit of the campaign setting perfectly! Excellent first session that blended key elements of character backstory/creation alongside the actual story (getting the ball rolling), along with well-organized notes for us to review before the next session. Fully committed to the roleplaying element of the game, and supportive of how much (or little) each person wants to roleplay.

Although new to DMing, Random seems like a seasoned pro. He immediately hooked us in during the first session with some excellent roleplaying and storytelling, and these narrative elements have continued to be central pillars in all of our sessions. It doesn't just feel like we are playing a game; it feels like we are immersed in an epic tale. He takes Session Zero and in-between session prep work seriously, providing ample and critical input to create truly three-dimensional characters.

Vincent is very patient and accomodating; he handled my technical difficulties (first time using Discord and Foundry) with care and concern, and also was forgiving in letting us re-do things if the initial attempt/explanation wasn't precisely clear in our intent. Pacing was great, allowing plenty of time for us to roleplay and then deftly transitioning into more action-oriented sections once that run its course. He has put in a lot of work behind the scenes to prepare, especially in building out our VTT. This was my first time playing through StartPlaying (and first time playing with a group of total strangers), but I felt extremely welcomed and like I hadn't missed much at all (as I was joining mid-campaign).
