There’s heart and potential here, but the lack of structure, slow pacing, and technical hiccups made sessions feel like work instead of play. They’re eager to weave in player backstories and build a living city. Pacing: Biweekly games need tight momentum, but scenes drag with vague hooks and no clear goals the DM leaned too hard on “use your imagination” without giving us enough to work with. When multiple players miss the same cues every time, that’s a DM clarity issue, not a player imagination issue. Rules Knowledge: Too many core 5e mechanics were shaky or looked up mid-game. Spiritual Weapon rulings (bonus action, no opportunity attacks, spell effect vs. creature) weren’t prepped. Concentration, Guidance stacking, and multicasting all caused delays and inconsistent calls. In a paid game, basic rules should be second nature—not debated on the fly. FoundryVTT Prep & Stability: This was a big pain point. My character sheet broke multiple times—stats vanishing, spells disappearing, inventory glitches—due to unstable macros and poorly synced modules. They did work on fixes between games, but the damage was already done: lost progress, repeated re-entries, and a clunky experience that broke immersion. For a professional virtual table, character integrity should be rock-solid from day one. If you want a sandbox that actually feels open and responsive, this table isn’t there yet. Worth trying if you’re patient and don’t mind helping shape the game—but not ready for prime time as a paid experience.
Tyler is an impressive DM. One of the best I have played with and it is rare to see a DM with his capabilities as a game leader that can handle multiple facets of a game simultaneously. His creative usage of VTT fuels his fantastic story telling skills and game mechanics. He is also well versed in the rule to the point we rarely have to discuss out of game rules and even then is exceptionally fair if its outside them. He is also a pro at improvisation if you as a player do something that's unexpected. If you are knowledgeable about lore, he encourages you and helps with finding a way to use it in a way that avoids meta gaming. Tyler starts every session putting his absolute best foot forward to give you a great experience. I can confidently say that as a DM he wants every single party member to have fun and puts great efforts in to make sure you are included. Top 3 DM for me, out of many I have played with. I look forward to our game every week.
