I’ve been playing with Jordan for years now (wow time flies!). The games have always been a pleasure to be in. Jordan is a fantastic story teller and creates worlds for you to explore with so much depth that the only issue you’ll run into is not having enough time to do it in the first place. In addition to that, Jordan is very accommodating, being able to introduce folks newer to the tabletop scene seamlessly while also being able to create a challenging, but rewarding structure for all the veterans out there. Overall, you won’t regret jumping in and playing an active role in carving out your own story. Create a backstory as rich (or simple) as you like and watch it come to life as you live your character’s highs and lows throughout their time at Hogwarts or any other world. In the words of the great sage Shia LaBeouf – Just Do It!
I've been playing in a campaign with Michael for almost a couple years now and it has always been a great experience! From working closely with you on developing your backstory and integrating it into the world, to running an extremely smooth and visually pleasing game on foundry, there's not much more you can ask for in a DM. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
Hey all! Brief background, I’ve been playing ttrpgs for around 5-6 years now. From more structured systems like D&D to more narrative driven systems like FATE. What I can promise you is that Alex runs games like you’ve never been in before. Starting with the role-playing part of TTRPG, Magic & Mysterium is not an adventure, its an experience. The level of investment into your character’s interpersonal relationships with others is what truly sets this game apart from others. You might think to yourself ‘It’s a Harry Potter game that takes place in school, how intense can the story really get?’ From the crazy antics that take place in day-to-day classrooms to the shenanigans you can get up to around Hogwarts castle, you’ll often forget about any other story that is going on. It simply can’t be understated the emotional heartstrings that are pulled in this campaign, not just from Alex but from the others in your game as well (and maybe even yourself!). Which brings me to the next topic – community. The Magic & Mysterium community feels like one big family. Also, for you power gamers out there, there is so much new homebrew material put into this game, it feels less like a dungeons and dragons side module and more like an entirely new system itself. With that being said, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into and if you ever feel overwhelmed, the members of the community are always there to help! For the Harry Potter lovers out there, Alex does a fantastic job staying true to lore while also bringing his own unique spice to the mix. You’ll see your favorite teachers, visit iconic locations, and form a close bond with your friends and classmates along the way, so give it a try, you won’t regret it!
