About Rian
I was pulled into the world of TTRPGs in 2018 and have been hooked ever since. I started out as a player and have dabbled in being the GM on a few occasions, for my friends. I love writing and creating stories, and after some very heavy encouragement from my little group of pals, I've decided to share my story with the world. I am Neurodivergent (Autistic), LGBT, Gender Diverse, and POC. I am very very accepting to people of all walks of life. I offer respect to anyone who will freely give it in return. I try my best to create an accepting environment for everyone as much as possible.

I became a GM because
Because I love storytelling and world building! I've been doing this sort of thing since I was little, day dreaming about characters who they are and what they'd do in different scenarios and worlds. What those worlds would look like. Creativity is my thing!
My favorite system of all Time is
The system I created! Join one of my Wizarding World games and you'll see!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Running around with my kids! Both of my littles are competitive dancers! <3
How Rian runs games
*GM Style* RP Style: I try to bring my NPCs and settings to life as much as I can. I heavily enjoy in depth backgrounds and world building. Combat style: I love combat and tactics! In my opinion, combat is a game of skill, but it should also be fun. Perhaps you'll die, or perhaps not! I do not ever fudge my own rolls, (LAME) and I'll always give players as much helpful advice during combat if they need it. Rules: I love working within the set rules as much as possible, however I absolutely encourage creativity. If it works and it makes sense its most likely to be a yes! Warnings: This game WILL include harm to children. Your character will be between the ages of 11-17 during the duration of the game (Except for the planned epilogue as adults), and will experience the failure to be protected by the adults around them. In addition, they will be exploited and manipulated by Tom Riddle as he is one of your teachers. Now, there will be a build up in the intensity of these things as the game goes on, (So we will not be starting with the worst possible first) there is a high likelihood of some pretty triggering content as the game progresses. Please keep that in mind! Adult Content: I do not allow explicit content at my table. However, I do encourage romance. There will be limits and boundaries around what is acceptable at what age (Given that you are playing children), but certain interactions will be accepted or denied based on the appropriate limitation for their age. Please keep this in mind while playing! SA and any illusion to it is not allowed. Whether in game or in backstory. *Safety* Everyone's safety is my #1 priority. I believe that D&D should be a welcoming space for all, and I will do whatever I can to make sure that is a reality. I am always open to feedback on safety and what I can do be more accommodating. I encourage everyone to be open with me about their needs and triggers so I can avoid them as much as possible, and please don't ever hesitate to remind me or correct me about things!

I deal with rules issues by...
Talking about it. I like to get my players input on what they think is the most fair and the most fun and we can test something out until we either like it or we think it doesn't serve us the way we want. Collaboration is super important to me.
My games focus on...
Dynamic roleplay and storytelling. I like creating a game in which the players have freedom to shame and mold where the story ends up going. I create the foundations, and my players make the story! I love shaping things that way!
Rules are...
Guidelines! Especially in roleplay scenarios. If we are in an RP scene my answer is hardly ever no! BUT In combat, rules are rules and are used for balance purposes, but I do love when someone comes up with cool flavour or a unique use of a feature or spell!
Rian's ideal table
I really enjoy a goofy, laid back table. When it comes to the dynamic between myself and my players, we love to have some fun! Tell a joke and act like absolute fools above board. Yet in game I really like to explore more serious, or dark themes when it makes sense. I do love to stir up in game drama or conflict as well as moral conundrums.

I love it when a player
Comes up with something cool in their story! Has a really funny roleplay moment. Totally flips the party on its head with yourdramatic scene. Does an OUTRAGEOUS amount of damage in combat because of a spell or feature combo. I live for it!
I think metagaming...
Is super lame. Not only that, but I will not allow it . If it doesn't make sense for the character to know or behave in a way based on meta knowledge I'm not someone who allows that to slip.
