I've been playing D&D for about 20 years, but one of Teller's games with my gf who is trying the game for the first time. He does a great job of managing the story pace to make sure you feel like something has actually been accomplished with your time, even if players have different things they want to accomplish. The combat also forces you to think on your feet to so even if you're a martial character, you're looking for more things to do than just whack something. I also wanna shout out his persistence of making sure folks feel comfortable. There was actually an occasion where he thought he had crossed one of our discussed problematic narrative topics, and to his credit, he was extremely cognizant of how the narrative was displayed without losing the edge of the story. It ultimately ended up with my character having a really strong emotional motivation for the immediate quest.
