Dakota is fantastically creative, high-energy, inclusive, and a little bit crazy. DnD with him is a wild ride and absolutely worth the experience. He is deeply invested in creating immersive stories, unforgettable characters, and making sure his players are having a great time at his table. He balances humor and empathy to give players a safe and enjoyable place to roleplay and build unforgettable stories. I enthusiastically recommend signing up for one of his games and telling epic stories with awesome people!
I've had the pleasure of a couple of sessions now with Clarissa, and I'm having an awesome time learning Blades in the Dark. They're a patient and knowledgable GM, and have made jumping in to a new system and new-to-me VTT (Foundry) very easy. They have a great sense narrative timing for running the scores and moving the action along, and I'm finding myself becoming immersed in the world as we build our crew and our characters. I'm looking forward to many more excellent sessions!
Jake is a great DM, patient, inclusive, and knowledgeable. He has a solid grasp of lore and runs a complex and creative combat encounter. His NPCs are unique and he’s good with voices. I really appreciated the guidance and experience running on Foundry as I’ve always found it to be complicated, but he made it very accessible. I’d say the game I was in was a little more balanced toward combat and quest completion rather than RP, but that could also have been a factor of the group that had assembled to play, just not meshing as much as I was looking for in a party. We had a lot of coming and going of players and a few delays with scheduling, so it didn’t quite pick up to the point where I was able to engage entirely. Still, I recommend giving Jake a shot and rolling some dice at his table!
Ben ran an amazing one-shot of Thirsty Sword Lesbians for myself and a group of friends, and it was one of the most fun sessions of gaming I've enjoyed in quite some time! They are creative and witty, they let the table run with the banter, but still managed to keep us on track and moving ahead with the plot. They allowed for juicy and hilarious interactions, and encouraged our crazy plotting. Even in a one-shot there were fabulous little world-building moments that made the game delightfully immersive. I had never played TSL or even a Powered by the Apocalypse game before tonight and Ben was an amazing teacher - they were knowledgable about the mechanics, patient with all of our questions, and even suggested and encouraged moves when we seemed to get stuck. All around, it was an awesome experience and I highly recommend booking Ben for a game!
David runs a really fun game - immersive and interactive, he portrays scenes and characters with enthusiasm and creativity. He's an inclusive and encouraging DM, and encourages fun at the table. He's familiar with the rules, but is wiling to be flexible if it means making the scene more interesting. I had to leave due to scheduling, but I definitely recommend signing up!
