I've been playing D&D on and off since 1983, when the Basic Set came out, and have had a whole slew of various Dungeon Masters, some good and some not so good. Ollie takes it to a whole new level, dare I say a Matt Mercer (Critical Role) level? He knows the rules really well, does a damn fine job on voices for his various NPCs (non-player characters), and is totally down with the occasional "rule of cool," providing it doesn't stray too far from rules as written. Prior to playing in his Hoard of the Dragon Queen campaign, it seemed like a lot of the games I played in didn't allow much in the way of role-playing, so I focused more on the combat and strategy aspect of D&D. While I still love that part of the game, it's great that Ollie spends the time to help you integrate your character's story into his world, thus encouraging plenty of fun and interesting role-playing opportunities. He's also just a great guy in general and always answers your questions in his Discord server in a timely manner, despite having a fairly busy schedule. If you're looking for an entertaining and dynamic D&D experience, then I personally feel that you can't go wrong with having Ollie as your Dungeon Master.
Vinni is a laid-back and easy-going/friendly GM for the game I'm currently playing. It's only been a few sessions, but I feel pretty comfortable and happy with the way he's running things so far. I'm into playing by the rules as is Vinni, but sometimes there are gray areas that can't be helped. In these cases, he has made exceptions for what he thinks is reasonable but still makes sense within the guidelines of the rules (aka "rule of cool"). He also allows for players to get creative with their character backgrounds, which definitely adds depth to those characters beyond the scope of the backgrounds offered in the books. So far I've enjoyed the voices he's used for the various npc's I've met along the way, and he's also done a nice job of keeping the combat balanced with the role-play aspect of the game. I highly recommend trying one of his games out if you're interested, because so far I have not been disappointed.
Wyrd is a laid-back and easy-going GM for the game I'm currently playing. It's only been a few sessions, but I feel pretty comfortable and happy with the way he's running things so far. I'm into playing by the rules as is Wyrd, but sometimes there are gray areas that can't be helped. In these cases, he has made exceptions for what he thinks is reasonable but still makes sense within the guidelines of the rules. Most importantly though, is the fact that Wyrd always gets back to me (sooner rather than later) whenever I have a question, or simply need help with getting something fixed that's not working correctly in his server or game. I highly recommend trying one of his games out if you're interested, because so far I have not been disappointed.
