I've been playing in one of James's D&D games now for a few years and his new Mage campaign. James is a fantastic DM/GM -- he excels both in onboarding those new to a game system and satisfying those with deep knowledge. He puts tremendous creativity and work into his campaigns, which are ripe with deeply developed NPCs (we shamefully barely scratch their surface) and both broad and individual story arcs that leave us on the edge of our seats and eagerly anticipating the next game. He is a colorful narrator and gives thoughtful attention to each player in the group. With respect to Mage, I am new to it, and James has enormous knowledge and has developed some original, deep and fun adventures. He helpfully has guided us through the rules to focus on enjoying the game and roleplay. And he attracts good people -- I couldn't be more thankful for the funny, caring groups of diverse players in his games that have become my valued friends. So, go for it :)
