About me
If you want enthusiasm, engagement, and a weirdly comprehensive memory of every little detail of our games, I'm the player for you! I like being consistently good with one trick, grandstanding, battle tactics, and getting more abilities to try rather than more "plus ones" to whatever I am doing. I like to engage with your content, but if you want a thousand word backstory in an afternoon, I'm up for that, too. I work and play well with others, and I will draw fellow players into the game kicking and screaming, because I bring all the buy-in you need to get your story told. My life is easy, stable, and pleasant, and I work banker's hours, so I will not upend your table with my emotional turmoil, and I am as happy doing something silly as I am doing something dark and gritty as I am doing something heartfelt. Please don't cancel game immediately before the session except in times of great need. I am totally invested in this!

Every so often you meet a stranger starting out in a profession, and you just know that guy will be a big name in his field (and soon!). Have you ever been to a super fancy restaurant where there is a waiter and an assistant waiter, so two people work together for a seamless experience where nothing falls through the cracks and your needs are met before you realize you have them? Deep Dice runs the game as the traditional DM, but he works with a peer behind the scenes to give one high quality beast of a gaming experience. When I hear instance after instance of detailed, polished description, I keep thinking, "This level of quality has got to drop off at some point," and then it doesn't. And it doesn't. And it doesn't. I had never run a game with a pre-generated character before, as I am a very picky individualist, and he made it work. The guy is overflowing with engagement and enthusiasm, to the point that at high dramatic moments he is so excited he rocks back and forth closer to and further from the camera, never breaking focus. We had a couple of new players, and one of them had, uh, let's call it "rules concerns that were not contributing in a timely manner to the flow of the narrative," and he somehow squashed it quickly so we didn't get bogged down while actually having what could have been a problem player changing behavior to something more constructive and actually thanking him for the correction. This leads me to my revised list of truisms in gaming: don't split the party, aim for center of mass, and do your best to be the one who gets to fill the open seat when The Deep Dice is running a table.
Great fun! The DM excelled in the fields of both preparation and improvisation. Every time I talk myself into moving away from paid games or this forum in particular, a gem like Eirenar crosses my path, and I am motivated to stick around. Special mention for dealing swiftly and fairly with problematic behavior in a way that did not disrupt the narrative experience. Expectations are clearly communicated, there's a mastery of the rules, and there's flexibility to make sure the game is serving the players as we want and deserve. No notes!
Oscar makes sure you know your character is cool and often adds beneficial effects for great choices or dramatically appropriate good rolls. He is very proficient in Foundry and uses his skill at worldbuilding to draw you in. If the players feel serious, he backs their play and makes a dramatic, high-stakes event; if the players feel silly, it's possible he'll devise a way to let you steal the moon. Great experience all around!
