I've played many, many games with this GM, in a variety of settings. The game we just finished was a Chronicles of Darkness game set in modern-day America, in Northern Wisconsin. As always, the player characters felt like established parts of the setting before session one began. We all wanted our characters to be doing well as people because we felt invested immediately after character creation. We felt comfortable role playing right away. It was an exciting and challenging game with a satisfying ending, but perhaps most notable is how he managed to keep developing the plot around our actions, without being restrictive about our choices. The game didn't meander, nor did it adhere to a strict, linear series of events. The encounters were tense, the story was compelling, and our characters had to work together, using all their talents, to figure out the secret goings on in Rhinelander, WI.
