In creating a space allowing for great tales and alot of player creativity. Making for rather interesting experience. Star trek have been a series have love, and getting the opportunity to play the TTRPG has been interesting. Hitting a lot of marks from each series of trek while making it own. From the odd creatures, space oddities, intense political situations,a ethical conundrums. Where sometime left with the thoughts of terror of what could of been the right move for days when done well for the session. Top Shelf games.
They do a good job of presenting a world and characters that feel real. Even though there might be silly things because of rule of cool. That everything has a consequence where a choice matters. That the dice matter as much as what the players choice to do. This is all while working within a published campaign. Giving the extra touch to flesh out things. Making NPC feel real that you need to go back to explore them rather then a simple stat block.
Does a great job of including the player while creating a great safe environment. Checking in on concerns of players and potential pitfalls. Not only that allowing for player creativity to give my most themes and concepts of metaphors character. Top Gremlin of a writer kind of character making it work with characters as well as their concepts come forth. Where something as silly as Sesame Street children's book contains merit and weight to the story. Bringing in consequences for choices. Giving the top tier choices on top of that. Telling a magnificent story weaved into mechanics of things.
A very much player focus GM. While they will have the world to set up conflict it is very much to see what character will do, and why. It has a very interlocked world where there is always something to explore. More focus on how can we tell a story. With the rules being what grounds us for understanding. Using that as a springboard into some fun and cool storytelling moments.
