Joe is great to play with. He listens when players bring things up and actually takes the time to adjust or talk things through, which makes the game feel super collaborative. He's open to learning and growing and helping everyone at the table feel safe and heard. He’s also really creative—his ideas are fun and the world feels thought-out without being overwhelming. There’s always something interesting going on, but it never feels like too much. What I really appreciate is how much he focuses on making sure everyone’s involved. He pays attention to what players are interested in and gives people space to shine, no matter their playstyle. Overall, just a really thoughtful and fun GM to be around. I definitely recommend.

I played my first game with DM Ellis and it was so much fun! There was room for roleplay, exciting battle sequences, and the atmosphere through the music really kept me captivated and engaged with the story that was being told. The oneshot we played felt well rounded and grounded and allowed for interesting moments between players and with the surroundings. It was an extremely welcoming table with room to ask questions and look for clarification, and I felt completely at ease immediately. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to an opportunity to play again.

While I was only allowed to choose three tags, I would say that most of them fit his style very well. His story-telling kept me immersed, as did his use of music throughout the one shot. He knew the rules quite well and was always willing to be patient and understanding as I worked through a new character, so I'm sure he would be a really great DM for those who are new to the game and looking to start out.
