About me

Hi! I'm a veteran player with many many systems under my belt, including D&D3.X/4/5, Pathfinder 1, Shadowrun 3/4, nWOD, and Fantasy Age, and am would love to learn other systems as well. I've had experience on both sides of the screen for PF and D&D as well. My favorite system so far is PF1 because I love all of the tiny little knobs and dials I can use to express myself through my character's skills, feats, and archetypes. More gradients to each ability means more definition to my character, to me at least. As a player, I tend to be very analytical - I tend to want to learn as much as I can about a setting, scenario, or NPC as much as possible before engaging them. This means I'm at my strongest, both in RP and tactically, when I'm given lots of time to prepare or when the objective has a clear, well, objective goal. It means I tend to be a bit weaker when ambushed, when needing to improvise when things go awry (they always do), or when the objective is more subjective, like simply getting an NPC to like the party a bit more or when I'm told to "create an opening" for another party member or NPC. I feel the most rewarded when my preparation pays off - having the right spell prepared for a particular monster, or catching the baron off guard by dropping a hint that I know his little secret, things like that give me the good brain juice as a player. This is also reflected in many of my characters - they tend to be studious and diligent, playing classes that have to prepare their spells or abilities in advance like Wizards in D&D or the Magus in Pathfinder, or in non-classed games, often having skills or abilities related to crafting, knowledge/lore, and investigation. I'm somewhat willing to open up to trying different styles, and definitely have played characters off this well-worn path before, but I feel like they tend to be less multidimensional. Thanks for reading and may all your dice rolls be blessed!

Tory has been fantastic so far. She knows her stuff when it comes to the rules, the storytelling and role-playing is great, and she gets excited for us when we do well. She encourages a lot of creativity from us when we problem-solve too. Definitely recommend her.
