Matt is amazing. This was my first real dive into D&D as a player, and I'm loving it. I had an idea of what I wanted for a backstory, but I didn't have the details because I wasn't familiar with the setting and because I am totally new at developing backstory. Matt spent a good chunk of time helping me fill in some details and then giving me direction on what other details I should add to my backstory. Throughout all of it he was encouraging and supportive, and I really appreciate the way he lets the players play but steps in to keep the pace up if needed. Part of the magic of Matt as a DM is the community that he has built through his Discord server so that even throughout the week players can interact and remember those funny, beautiful, terrifying, tragic, or whatever moments that make the game of D&D so fun.
