We had a group with a mix of experience, from a player for whom this was their first game, to some us who had quite distinct ideas about what a good game looks like. Edwin kept the game on the rails and kept the pace up, running an interesting and well developed game. I recall a moment where I privately messaged Edwin, a way to avoid what could have been a very sticky storytelling situation with a solution that fit my character's agenda and personality, and it proved a monumental moment in the story, so that flexibility and ability to adapt to what was happening in the game was very welcome.
This was the first time myself and a mate had played The Alien RPG. We had some good discussions before-hand about how the game works, what is expected and some detailed info on our characters. In the game, the descriptions of the scenario and story were clear and engaging. Casey scheduled in a break, and at no point rushed or 'railroaded' the play, so that was excellent.
