He's a bit rules-light and he only uses D&D Beyond for his games, but he's still really good. Not many people are willing to run official WotC 5e adventures without trying put their own cringy spin on things in an attempt to stand out. Ironically, his refusal to do something like that makes him stand out even more, but in a good way. I'd definitely recommend him to any new players trying to get a feel for what an authentic game of D&D is like.
If you want a something that's part in-person and part-online, this is the DM for you. He makes his own battle maps and structures using models and craft supplies, then shows them over Zoom and lets you tell him where you want to put your character mini, which he chooses for you from his personal collection. It's a little annoying not being able to move your own mini, but that's about the only bad thing I can think of about how he runs his game. He only ever runs one campaign, but he's spent a lot of time and energy perfecting it. However, he doesn't take things TOO seriously like some other professional DMs with their own homebrew settings do. He's also very understanding if someone doesn't know how to do something. Also, he responds to messages on Start Playing surprisingly quickly, which is always appreciated.
