Over 50 sessions in so thought I would update my review. Playing Mad Mage, which is probably a bit of a big boring dungeon crawl in most DMs hands, but not Shiv's. Every level has entire societies full of possibilities. Choices matter. Play is as it should be, fair but challenging -- if you want easy DnD where you can short rest endlessly and go nova during your 3 encounters a day, this probably isn't the game for you. If you want your DnD successes to feel realistic and earned then you won't find better. The effort Shiv puts into the maps, your tokens, your backstory and just the way he keeps the game moving whichever direction the players want to go is first class. And all of this is done with great humour, amazing story telling, fantastic NPCs and exciting combat.

I'm really enjoying playing in Rob's Drakkenheim campaign. Rob is an easy going DM who presents a tough but fair challenge to the players. He creates a great in game atmosphere and allows for players to be creative with the problems they encounter. He provides a great visual experience on Foundry/Forge and his NPCs really pop. He has a group of regulars who are very welcoming, generous and a lot of fun to play with. I have no hesitation in recommending Rob.
