The one night I can play D&D this week freed up bc my normal campaign had to skip. I was jonesing to play and found Keith's one-shot. Communication in setting up the game was clear and quick, the value was incredible and the adventure was fun. He's a great storyteller and had creative descriptions for everyone's actions. Will be back again!
Played a one-shot with Sout, who I've never played with before, and LOVED it. He is kind, gracious, helpful and creative with his sessions. From the time I signed up as the first player to his one-shot to the very end, his communication was flawless in frequency and tone, which honestly was a great surprise. Most of the people I ended up playing with play with Sout in campaigns and they were all, to a wo/man, fun, patient and supportive to the whole table. They all seemed to LOVE Sout which said a lot about his regular campaign play style. I would play again with him in a sec and when my time frees up, may join one of his campaigns. Thank you so much for a great night Sout and friends!
Man, I can't believe it's taken me a year to write this. I came to Jim as a quasi-beginner having played D&D in the late '70's but not again until early 2022. Jim's is only the second campaign I've been in since then. I was really nervous joining a new group but from the first messages we exchanged, Jim seemed super supportive of my noobie-ness and was ajust genuinely welcoming. Those first impressions have not only proven to be true but were just the tip of the iceberg of what Jim brings to a game. He has a deep familiarity of the story and lore of the Sword Coast based-campaign we are in. He worked with me for a couple weeks on backstory, tying my character creation into the existing party so the in-game integration was tasty and seamless. His games are no walk in the park but are really well-balanced; thank God we have like 1.5 Clerics 😂. Our characters are really challenged every session, his rulings are completely fair and reasonable, he's funny, he sets the mood with music, he's encouraging of roleplay (even if you are a bit shy like me) and has a really strong command of the Foundry VTT we use. I've grown so much as a player and the folks I share this table with have really become family. If you have a chance to be in one of Jim's game, you 1000% should, full stop.
Played a one-shot with Boom this weekend and loved it. He ran a tight ship and there were a lot of people who wanted that mic. He painted a great and clever picture of his scenario and ran it really well. Pace was excellent and the encounters were a blast (both social and combat). I look forward to playing with him again soon. I bet he would run an amazing campaign too!
