Shawn (Noxx)

Mike blew me away! He's got that special gift of setting a scene and bringing to life. His great pacing and narrative skills really get you into the story he's weaving for the players. He puts in all the little details most DM's skip over or forget. Every NPC seems completely fleshed out. His descriptions of what is happening seem to hit most of the senses... what you see, hear, smell, touch and taste. The way he runs combat is fluid and smooth yet I never felt rushed or under pressure. When I wasn't sure about something he was really great and patient to explain things. His ability to narrate the combat is great and really went a long way with the immersion I felt throughout the session. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, joining a game run by Mike will most likely be the best DnD game you've ever played.

A great grasp of the game lore, firm understanding of the game mechanics and a great way with people made my sessions with Captain memorable. You know you are having a great time when you get to the end of the session and say "Already... can't we just go on for a few more hours"! He also spends extra time on his Discord helping craft your character and fill in the blanks to make for a great experience. Cares about the game and about his players. Also has great deal of patience with FoundryVTT newbies... I promise I'll click on my token before I roll initiative next time!

Is patient and takes the time to explain things including how to use Roll20. It's obvious that he wants the players to have fun and isn't playing to 'hurt the party'. Keeps the game moving along at a good pace. You know you're having fun when the session goes by in the blink of an eye and you can't wait until next week!
