JoePlaysD&D (from It's A Long Story)

Played 88 sessions

Joe was my very first DM, about 3 years ago, and I've had the great fortune to get into a campaign with Joe for the past ~6 months. Joe is an excellent DM, period. Whether it's world building, atmosphere, characters, voices - all are engaging. As a player, Joe's favorite thing is diving into your character, their choices, thoughts, history... future? When you play with Joe - even on a one shot! - it's always polished, emphatic, melodic and character-heavy. New player or aged veteran, I could not recommend Joe any higher. If you have the chance, you should play with Joe - it'll be a memorable experience!

Played 73 sessions

I've played about seven sessions with Rahtegoth so far, and have loved each of them. We're playing through a relatively scripted adventure, but Rahtegoth has done a great job allowing us all to breathe and handle situations as we'd want, but then also helps move the story along when necessary. He's done a good job mixing some newcomers (such as yours truly) and some veterans into a campaign where everyone feels equal. I'd highly recommend Rahtegoth for your DM needs, and am looking forward to continuing to play with him myself!

Rob (RPG Mastery)

Rob did a great job going over the basics, not hand-holding new players, and allowing them to express themselves. He also was there to offer some suggestions, if the players wanted, but in no way did the one-shot - a pretty railroaded event - even feel railroaded. We played a pre-created WotC one-shot that had pre-generated characters and we had some issues with the character sheets and the software but Rob kept it low-key and a good time was had by all. Definitely a great experience for a relative newcomer to the game.
