I've played 5e D&D with Mark since 2020 and am currently midway through a fourth campaign that he is running. I can say with confidence that he is the best DM I have ever played with. Mark's approach is incredibly collaborative, finding ways to incorporate players' characters into the setting no matter how bizarre or outlandish they might seem on the surface, tactfully weaving backstory into the emergent narrative of the campaign and regularly providing opportunities for the players to discuss the emotional inner lives of their characters. While this obviously creates an environment for strong plot and character-focused roleplaying, Mark is also adept at spotting when his players need some additional prompting, presenting options or introducing new information that will motivate the players/characters to take action, thereby ensuring that sessions are always eventful and entertaining. I'd recommend Mark to any player interested in a character-led campaign where your actions matter.

Alex is an engaging DM with a talent for bringing a variety of NPCs to life at the table. He is good at creating a sense of a consistent world while respecting the self-directed nature of his players' stories. I would recommend Alex to any player looking for a game (either one-shot or ongoing campaign) that strikes a strong balance between story, combat and character-focused roleplay.
