About Yore-GM

Hey Chaps I'm Yore-Gm, I’m a story-driven GM with four years of experience running epic, character-rich campaigns in both homebrew worlds and published modules. I’ve introduced dozens of players to D&D, including helping bring the game to the Scouts—many of those young players now run their own games, which is one of the things I’m proudest of as a GM. My approach is all about collaboration, creative risk, and escapism. I believe the best roleplay comes from really knowing your character—and I love helping players grow into their stories, whether they’re veterans or just starting out.

How Yore-GM runs games

Epic journeys, rich lore, and unforgettable character arcs—that’s what I build my games around. I'm a passionate, story-driven GM who loves crafting high-fantasy adventures filled with meaningful choices, high-stakes combat, clever puzzles, and immersive roleplay. My worlds are layered with foreshadowing, secrets, and moments of both triumph and terror—but always with a spirit of adventure and a deep love of character storytelling. At my table, every session is active: there's something for every type of player. Whether you're negotiating with a scheming noble, solving a mysterious riddle in an ancient ruin, or facing down a terrifying foe, you'll feel like you're part of an epic tale where your actions matter. 🧠 I don’t hold back on my monsters—you’ll feel the risk. 🎭 I reward players who dive deep into their characters. 🗺️ I balance tension with beauty, horror with heroism. 🌈 I keep the table inclusive, respectful, and safe for all. I welcome both experienced players and beginners who are excited to learn. If you’re ready to grow into your character and invest in the world, you’ll thrive here. I love helping new players improve—but I do expect everyone to bring focus, curiosity, and a willingness to grow. This is your story. I’m just here to make it epic.

I prep by

I listen to film music and build pillars. I know where the game needs to get to but how we get there is through character and dice rolls. so I layout the pillars in prep to make sure that we reach key points where we need to

Rules are...

Important but should destabilise.

When it comes to voices

I do voices as best as possible, they add flavour to who you're dealing with

Yore-GM's ideal table

Players who care about story They’re excited about their characters' emotional journeys and want to explore them over time. You don’t need to be theatre kids—but you value roleplay, make choices with intent, and react in-character. Curious problem-solvers You love a good mystery, are eager to uncover lore, and enjoy untangling puzzles. You ask questions like, “Why is this place the way it is?” or “What does this symbol mean?” Collaborators, not spotlight-hoggers Everyone shares the stage. My best games happen when players build off each other, cheer for each other's wins, and invest in the group's story as much as their own. Players who enjoy challenge, not cruelty You want stakes and consequences—you like feeling like victory means something—but you trust me to make the world thrilling, not punishing. You feel fear, and then triumph. Committed beginners or humble veterans I don’t mind teaching—especially to people who want to learn and grow—but I don’t want to babysit. Ideal players ask for help and put in effort to improve over time. Emotionally safe, respectful humans I understand boundaries, support inclusion, and want a table that feels like a team. you’re okay with dark fantasy moments, but they also know this is escapism—not a place to rehash real-world trauma.
