About Yannick
I'm a DM who has been running games (almost) weekly for the past 6 years. I love game design and worked on many different homebrew projects throughout the years. I hope to present unique combats, environments and lore to explore and fight your way through, working together to make a compelling character arc and connect you to the world, whether it is the first or thousandth time you are playing. I can DM in Dutch and English, no preference! I'm (sadly) only experienced with DnD 5e (2014&2024) and Mausritter, but have been looking for that push to try out some Pathfinder 2e, Kids on Bikes or literally any other cool system! I mostly play out of Roll20.

I got started GMing...
when I was 2 years old apparently, my dad would listen to me tell the most elaborate stories with my toys that he never really grasped. 16 years later I explained DnD to them and it immediately made perfect sense to them why I was so obsessed.
When I'm not running games I'm...
busy studying Biology! I tell myself I want to study life and such, but I think subconsciously I just do it to get cool new monster and environment ideas...
How Yannick runs games
"Enthusiastic, clear and lots of room for creativity. And you like puzzles" ~Satisfied player The thing I love most about DMing is making something up, seeing how the players react to it and then building on the ramifications from there. On a session-to-session basis you'll see interesting monsters, magical locales and weird NPCs with a good dose of puzzles and fun mechanics thrown in. I love making my own maps in Inkarnate and adding my own little touches to monsters. I've been getting into hex-crawls and I've recently been trying out some things to make it less crawly and more of an epic adventure exploring new and exciting locales where everyone in the party contributes to get to the destination.
Yannick's ideal table
My perfect table includes curious and clever players, willing to both explore my world and the game system we're using. Creativity in gameplay and in your interaction with the world is what gives me the most energy as a DM!

I love it when a player
uses the world to it's advantage. I am never one to say no if the lore agrees with something while the game system may not!
I think min/maxing...
is fine, as long as the party stays relatively balanced! I love seeing a system pushed to its limits, especially when its in service to the rest of the party. Dealing 500 damage in a round is cool, but somehow giving everyone else a +15 to all skillchecks is a lot cooler in my opinion!
