About Xatarin Skywalker

My name is Xatarin Skywalker. I am a screenwriter, musician and all around nerd who enjoys everything geeky including anime, MTG, video games & especially D&D. The second time I ever played D&D it was as a GM. I fell in love with the game immediately. I’ve been playing for about 9 years now and most of my time is spent teaching new players how to play. I always run mini campaigns, one shots or full campaigns for players, who like me, thought they would never be interested in D&D, and they always find the spark and love for it. I also seek out those who have interest but don’t have a place or person to help them start. I especially make it a point to teach other African Americans because in my area there is no community for us to learn and connect with D&D. I have played in person and on Roll20 countless times, ran modules like Icespire Peak & Tomb of Annihilation, and also played full homebrew games. I’ve also encouraged and taught others how to GM/DM after getting them into the game. I haven’t yet played with any systems aside from D&D 5e but I am looking forward to trying Draw Steel. I also work with other musicians like rappers and r&b artists to build chemistry and community through the game. Currently I am running 2 home games, a 2 mini campaigns for coworkers and friends, and have more 1shots lined up after making a post about being open to teaching anyone D&D. I’ve also DM’d through discord in the past for the channel Historically Black Dice.

How Xatarin Skywalker runs games

I love to help my players tell an epic story together. I love every that comes with modern day TTRPG to the maximum. I love RP with voices and passion. I’m very goofy so my NPCs can be comical even if villainy. But I also mimic my player’s energies. I love high stakes combat, with layers of interactions to make them epic and memorable battles. I believe the dice have the final say, and let the chips fall where they may. Your choices and your rolls dictate your outcomes, and death is on the table. I want my players to succeed together and feel accomplished. I want them to overcome obstacles and I will try to help them do anything that they want to achieve, but also I am just the narrator, your choices are yours. I love a table that loves to laugh while also being enamored with the game. A passion of mine is bringing unforgettable NPCs with crazy quirksz
