About William

I've been playing since I was 14 and am 50 now, and love introducing players to my world of Solare. The decisions and relationships characters create in my world I use as inspiration for stories in novels I've written. Being a player is fun for me, but I've always tended to host more games and usually end up as the DM for all my friends. Since I've been building Solare for over 20 years, it has plenty of history and characters to work with and build on for players. Since recently getting back into DM'ing and 5e, I've been working to transfer all my NPC and Lore to World Anvil and constantly adding new content to immerse players into the world and create a great experience for them to enjoy! I love telling stories and writing novels based on the characters that players make in the world. I have online campaigns and table top which all influence the world of Solare and other groups. So one group may see a green dragon flying over them to attack another group in a far off city. I love creating tokens for my players and have plenty of tokens of my NPCs for players to interact with. Aside from gaming, my main profession is photography and videography. I hope to see you come for a visit and explore my world and maybe stay for awhile.

How William runs games

I love telling stories and also participating in them as players forge their path in my world. A focus on roleplay is great at the table, but I also love a good battle. A mixture and balance of both is a goal for my games. Some other aspects I like to add is the ability for characters to use their skills to investigate and deduce what villains are up to in the grand scheme of their plans. I have homebrew gods that grant blessings in the form of feats that players can add once they choose the god they want to follow in my world. My world is a bit higher in power level compared to other dnd worlds, but it equals out since everyone can follow a god including NPCs. Gods grant extra actions, bonuses and spells. Lots of various gifts for characters to add more options in combat. Whatever the outcomes that players make, also could create ripple effects that change the world at large and for other player characters including in future stories I plane to write based on Solare. I feel this gives meaning to what characters do and hopefully creates a fun experience for players knowing their choices mean something! Mainly I focus on giving players agency and a sandbox feel with many points of interest. They don't have to follow the current adventure they are on. I do like for groups to play together and have synergy, so I usually don't have evil alignments in the party. I just made a page for my DnD games with other friends and hoping to start streaming in a few weeks. Hope to see you in Solare!

William's ideal table

The overall vibe at my table is relaxed, welcoming, and easygoing. We're all here to have fun and tell an incredible story together. Mistakes happen—we all forget rules, miss details, or make the occasional wrong call—and that's perfectly okay. We keep the game moving instead of getting caught up in arguments over every ruling. I believe a great table is built on mutual respect, laughter, and collaboration. Everyone should feel comfortable contributing, celebrating each other's moments, and helping create memorable adventures together. At the end of the day, my hope is that we're more than just people rolling dice online. I want my tables to be places where great stories are told, unforgettable moments are shared, and, hopefully, a few lasting friendships are made along the way. The players who thrive most at my table are those who love roleplaying and truly enjoy stepping into their character's shoes. I love players who aren't afraid to take initiative, pursue their own goals, build relationships, and help drive the story forward. Your character isn't just a collection of statistics—they're a living person with dreams, flaws, fears, and ambitions. While knowing the rules is always appreciated, my games are ultimately about the story, not mastering every mechanic. If you're someone who gets excited about memorable conversations, difficult choices, emotional moments, and watching your character grow over the course of a campaign, you'll probably feel right at home. I encourage players to embrace the spotlight when it's their moment, while also helping create opportunities for everyone else to shine. The best sessions happen when the entire table is invested in one another's stories just as much as their own. Above all, I love players who immerse themselves in the world, use their imagination, and treat the adventure as something they're experiencing rather than simply playing. If you enjoy collaborative storytelling, meaningful roleplay, and creating unforgettable moments together, we'd likely be a great fit.
