About V
Greetings! I'm Vorpal DM (but you can call me V), a latino Dungeon Master who speaks english and spanish fluently. I've been playing TTRPG's, especially D&D, for over 10 years, and have been a forever DM for the majority of that time. I'm a self-made voice actor, a professional illustrator, and I'm told I'm great at improvisation! Being somewhat of a theater kid and with a love for adventures of all kinds of genres, I'm great with all kinds of players, from beginners to veterans. I'm quite adaptable and love players who wish to contribute to the world via their backstories! I know the rules of the 5e system well, but am always willing to go for the rule of cool when needed. Generally, I specialize in mini campaigns (2-6 months) and long-term campaigns (7+ months), but I run the occasional oneshot! My worlds are usually homebrew and I have unique species as additions to the usual species presented by the core rulebook and other sourcebooks. Joining my games gives you access to a player-exclusive Discord server with lore and information channels. You also get access to some sourcebooks in DNDBeyond, my homebrew content and the ability to play in the Foundry VTT platform in each session! External artwork and photographs are always royalty-free or commissioned, and I produce some artwork myself. My games are strictly anti AI.

I ran my first game...
when I was 19. It has been 9 wonderful years since then, and even though it was a mess, my players had fun. Over time, I've been learning many lessons about being both a player and a DM, and I will keep learning.
When I'm not running games I'm...
working on them, creating homebrew, or designing my own system! I also love to write, watch shows and anime, read books and manga, and draw. I often find myself listening to horror narrations on YouTube, in fact, as I work on other things!
How V runs games
I am a highly adaptable DM, though my favorite kinds of games are where roleplay comes first, followed closely by combat. After that it's exploration and finally puzzles, as my players usually tend to like puzzles the least! I prefer to run light resource management games in high fantasy, and with tactical combat in which descriptions are quite important. Well-described actions and the rule of cool can help with how successful an action can be, as I love and reward player creativity. Of course, making fun NPC's is always a big priority as well, and I always lean towards expanding the ones my parties like the most.

My games focus on...
a variety of genres, most often the mystery, epic and horror genres.
Rules are...
a guideline to follow and modify when needed. I'm open to modify the rules if that is helpful and healthy to the game. House rules are very important as well!
V's ideal table
A table full of people who can take a game seriously, but aren't afraid to have fun and enjoy the silliness that comes with player and GM wit.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
epics, eldritch horror, social dynamics and light resource management
I love it when a player
is a dedicated roleplayer who enjoys combat but can resolve situations in a variety of different ways. I welcome creative people and encourage that creativity as it often leads to incredibly memorable moments!
I think min/maxing...
can be fun when done with a purpose! Sacrificing roleplay opportunities for optimized statistics is not as fun in my opinion.
