About Evan

I have been GMing D&D 5e for over 5 years in weekly games. I mainly run games in the world of Eberron, and often homebrew the campaigns. However, I have run modules as well. I recently developed my own D&D world, Kateche: World of Ideology. I have experience in running games in-person, over Roll20, and most recently over Foundry. I have been primarily running games with the new D&D 5e2024 ruleset, however I am interested in running games in other systems, with most interest being in Daggerheart.

I got started GMing...

Because a dormmate in college wanted to play their first D&D game after watching Critical Role, and I wanted them to have their first game be as a player. Ever since, they have been a player at my table!

How Evan runs games

I like to challenge myself with different GMing styles, from more mystery focused games to more action focus. I tend to like to leave mysteries to solve in my games, along with focusing on pulp action scenarios, though I have explored westerns, academic, and steampunk/magipunk settings and game genres.

Rules are...

important so long as everyone is on the same page! However, they are not more important than having fun!

Evan's ideal table

I try to match the energy of my players. If that want something more serious and roleplay heavy, I can provide. If they want something more light-hearted and comedic, I can also provide. You would fit well at my table so long as you are wiling to put the time in each week to show up and have fun with your fellow players!

I think it's a red flag when players...

Try to actively sabotage other players or refuse to agree on something. Remember, this is a team game!
