About Violet

Hi! I’m Violet, and I love running games that are imaginative, rp-heavy, and fiction-focused! I especially love getting players to build relationships between their characters. After eight years of playing mostly DnD, I started running Forged in the Dark systems. I’ve been running Songs for the Dusk, Girl by Moonlight, and Blades in the Dark. I’ve also ran a DnD mini-campaign (homebrew) and some one shots in previous years. Right now, I can’t wait to run some more GBM, as I’m very much into the anime touchstones it invites. See you at the table!

How Violet runs games

I’m a lover of roleplay and exploring the characters, but with tools to help the shyer players get into it. You don’t have to have the talent of a theatre kid to fit in at my table; so long as you *want* to be drawn into your character (and everyone else’s!), you’ll have a good time. I’m usually improv-heavy, fiction-first, and theatre of the mind, but have also done one shots and campaigns that are more planned out, full of maps, and crunchy. I lean toward rule flexibility and a more fast and loose style. I play to first and foremost be a fan of the players, and I expect my players to also embody that principle towards each other. We all want ourselves to look cool, but the best GMs and players want everyone else to look cool!

Violet's ideal table

My ideal table vibe is one of relaxed, collaborative storytelling. Players who are interested in each other will have the best time. I'm very good at helping people who are new to systems find their feet, but you have to *want* to participate. Don't be afraid to "mess up"!
