About V

Theatre kid, creative writing major, interactive fiction author, and sporadic GM. I've been running games for my friends for a number of years now, but am always looking to play more TTRPGs (and put some super cool maps to good use). Committed to creating fun and engaging games with compelling stories.

I became a GM because

I was listening to a LOT of The Adventure Zone & Dimension 20 and desperately wanted to play D&D… and it turns out the best way to do that is to roll up your sleeves and start GMing games!

My favorite books are

… this is a tough prompt. Off the top of my head, let’s say… ‘Crush’ by Richard Siken, ‘Monstrous Regiment’ by Terry Pratchett, and ‘The Song of Achilles’ by Madeline Miller. But that’s FAR from being an exhaustive list.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

“sorry is it bad that the only word i can thinkof is queer... other words ar elike… imaginative. but thats so cliche” … thanks dude

How V runs games

I have a relaxed GM style with a focus on Rule of Cool. Collaborative storytelling and player freedom and agency are important to me, and I take care to create a fun, inclusive environment where players can feel comfortable contributing and playing.

Featured Prompts

My games focus on...

Fun, creativity, and collaborative storytelling!

Rules are...

There to provide a structure, not there to limit creativity. You have to know and respect the rules in order to know how and when to bend or break them.

When it comes to voices

I put my whole theatre kid heart into it, but can’t promise that they’ll always be consistent!

V's ideal table

Generally, my games tend to be more RP-heavy with plenty of OOC chatter and a general acceptance for the fact that we might not always get all the rules exactly right! But really, as long as you’re into TTRPGs, collaborative storytelling, and helping to create a friendly and welcoming community, you’ll probably fit right in.

Featured Prompts

I am for a vibe that's...

Creative, collaborative, relaxed, and fun.

I love it when a player

Thinks up a creative solution, uses a classic tool in a novel way, or really plays into their character.

I think min/maxing...

Is perfectly fine and can be fun! As long as it makes sense with the character and isn’t exploiting a loophole to get around a mechanic, of course.
