About Edward H
Hi! I'm Edward, A.K.A Grimm Grinner, A.K.A Conrad Getz, a post-apocalyptic podcaster and storyteller. I've played a bunch of TTRPGs and video games over the years, starting with D&D 5e, and most recently getting really into the Fallout 2D20 system. I also love other alternative TTRPG systems, stuff like Mothership or Ten Candles, and have played some sessions with friends for those as well. I love to tell stories, especially in such a collaborative way, and doing so has helped inspire the different stories I tell in my day-to-day life, as well as the podcasts I produce. I look forward to telling even more sometime!

My favorite books are
collections of short stories or poetry books are up there, alongside any of the Dragonlance series. I also really enjoy doing mystery and puzzle books, like Murdle or some of the adventure books where it's almost like a one-person TTRPG/choose your own adventure.
My favorite shows/movies are
Mad Max (the whole franchise), Fallout, Pontypool, Hell House LLC, Bob's Burgers, Lord of the Rings, pretty much anything wholesome, fantasy, horrific, or post-apocalyptic.
When I'm not running games I'm...

How Edward H runs games
I love to roleplay! There's nothing more fun than going off on a tangent of telling stories as the characters, alongside whatever NPCs are around. Combat systems can vary, and are fun in a lot of systems, but can also turn into moments when the players are just waiting their turn, where a roleplay heavy game can have a few different scenes playing out at once, which can be a lot of fun.

I prep by
reading whatever books I have and trying to figure out the story that could be told, as well as planning out all the potential monsters, NPCs, and how the encounters might work with the characters the players have made.
When it comes to voices
They're always encouraged but not mandatory. I've always got voices on hand for characters, since I do all my podcast ones myself, so doing voices is my vibe!
Edward H's ideal table
My tables are definitely story-telling jams in that I love to work with the players to tell the best version of a story. Roleplayers that want to engage with the story and with each other are the best fit. No need to be in-character the whole time, but trying to play the characters during downtime scenarios and engage with what they have going on adds that extra bit of fun and zest to the game. Since my main game to play is Fallout, being able to engage with a world that is slightly dark and run down, while also being able to have some fun and engage with the levity that can exist is ideal. While there are dark parts to the world, and some scenes might have some hard topics, it's important to not always play it in a grimdark way, because the next scene might be something borderline comical. So keeping that in mind allows for a fleshed out world and game to play in. Rule of cool and fun roleplay moments are always encouraged, but listening to each other and the GM is also key for my tables. It's important to me that when players want to interact with parts of the story that they get a chance to talk, to have their character voices be heard, and not shouted down by others. Everyone gets to play in the story and the world.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
If you're into Fallout, Mad Max, or any other weird or fun post-apocalyptic stuff, you'll love the tables, I run.
I love it when a player
I love when players engage with each other in terms of their characters. I enjoy being able to have off-table discussions about character backstories and connections, to allow better in-game moments to be fleshed out and played.
