About Vasilis
Yo, I'm Vasilis from Greece. I've been into TTRPGs for 15 years and been DMing for about 7. I have experience with a variety of systems, including DnD 2.5/3.5/5e, PF1e/2e, Forbidden Lands and Heart. I run campaigns in English and Greek, as I'm completely fluent in both. I love creating new worlds and telling stories. And while I enjoy every little bit of the process, the writing of the lore, the making of each battlemap, the designing of every encounter, nothing ever comes close to finally passing one's creation over to the players and watching them breathe life into it.

I became a GM because
I love building worlds, telling stories and playing games. This hobby combines all these together.
I got started GMing...
as a 7-year-old kid in elementary school, drawing maps full of traps and treasure during art class and challenging my friends to beat them. I grew up always thinking this was a weird game I had come up with, imagine my reaction when I found out TTRPGs were a thing.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Preparing for the next session. If not directly, then indirectly, seeking inspiration within my hobbies, my books, my games, my music, my traveling.
How Vasilis runs games
Though the way I run my games vary, depending on the mood each campaign is trying to establish, I tend to focus my efforts into: • Providing a world that is reactive to the party's actions • Giving players an adequate sense of freedom • Rewarding exploration and creativity • Immersing players with a degree of realism that is still fun to play with • Ensuring a degree of logical consistency to each interaction • Handcrafting battlemaps and encounters with variety and fun in mind • Setting the mood, be it through music, visual aids, sound effects, lighting etc. • Challenging the players

I prep by
writing, designing, developing and polishing a campaign months in advance. I take as much time as possible to ensure my worlds feel vast, detailed and full of opportunities. This provides me with a strong basis, upon which I can build an adventure tailored to a party's unique choice and motivation.
My games focus on...
Atmosphere and immersion. Challenge and encounter variety. Interesting interactions. Player agency and freedom. It's hard to pick just one thing to focus on. A successful campaign, in my honest opinion, involves all of the above and much, much more.
Rules are...
Important but malleable. Consistency ensures a fair and fun game; a player getting to make impossible feats (as determined by the rules) sours the experience of the rest. However old rules can change, after discussion and careful consideration, and new rules can be created as required.
Vasilis's ideal table
I seek in my players a passion for gaming, the willingness to create an unforgettable story and tolerance for risk and challenge, as I rarely create campaigns where character death is an impossibility. Most of my players have a few deaths under their belts. These moments have been the most memorable ones for us all. These characters, the ones that are gone, are still remembered fondly as legends. Generally I keep my tables small, around 3-4 players. Not only does it make scheduling easier and more consistent, it also ensures a higher level of involvement and a larger share of the spotlight for each player.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Old videogames such as Ultima and Thief: The Dark Project. Atmospheric Black/Folk Metal bands such as Agalloch or Summoning. Walks in the woods and hikes on misty days. I'm accommodating to any player, but I always insert a dose of what I love in my creations.
I love it when a player
asks questions outside session hours, be it a question about their character or generally about the campaign. It is genuinely and honestly exciting to see my players show interest in my creation and be involved with it even when not playing.
