About Kaya

👻 I like horror and comedy, and the way I run a game will reflect that. My favorite system is Kids on Bikes, but I'm slowly learning other systems as well, like VtM. I like to put a focus on roleplay, so that my players can have fun and create connections with their characters! 🔥 I am also genderfluid and pansexual, and I go by any pronouns.

I became a GM because

Someone asked if I could and I panicked and said yes (I could not, at the time.)

My favorite books are

All My Colors by David Quantick Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare Reluctant Immortals by Gwendolyn Kiste Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle

When I'm not running games I'm...

How Kaya runs games

I typically play high in roleplay, and low in combat. I'm not opposed to combat, but I prefer to create mystery and a fully fleshed out world more for my players. I would say I'm good at voices! I do whatever I can to keep people engaged with the story and characters inside it.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Weird Al, John Carpenter and Guillermo Del Toro, all chained to the rock of Prometheus.

I once ran a session...

entirely centered around a cow that kept flying away because it wanted to go to the moon.

My games focus on...

Horror, character development, storytelling and humor. And the crippling fear of adulthood.

Kaya's ideal table

Players who enjoy horror and humorous downtime in games, like creative storytelling together, and can allow themselves to get into the characters and world are my ideal table. I also don't mind beginners and questions! I like talking, explaining, and figuring things out together. Curious players are my favorite. Ask the weird thing, as someone on Tiktok once said.

I love it when a player

asks questions. Let me know what you're thinking! I like hearing the ideas of my players.

I think it's a red flag when players...

disregard the feelings of other players. Unless the other player has stated they're okay with something happening, you can't do it. Sorry, not sorry. Nope, nope.

My table is not the place for...

Minors. I curse, I love horror, and I am not comfortable facilitating a table that has a mix of minors and adults that do not know each other. If I'm booked for a session that has children/teens by responsible adults, I am willing to do so!
